There has been a drive down memory lane for members of the Leader's Local Bygones Facebook group, after photos were shared of a business familiar to many.

Will Willows posted several images of his father-in-law's garage, courtesy of his wife, Caroline Willows.

The late Raymond Llewelyn Kyffin, was the owner of Ray's Garage, in Rhosnesni.

Daughter Caroline said: "It started with a little kiosk. It looked like a telephone box.

"He used to get somebody to sit in it, operate and authorise the pumps for motorists.

"He was very well known in the area. He was so kind. If people didn't have the money, he would let them pay when they did."

Ray, who was a member of the Masonic Bersham Lodge, was also involved for many years with Wrexham pantomime.

Caroline's brother, John, a well-known organist in Wrexham, also worked for their dad.

Ray's Garage still holds many memories from people who grew up in the area, from spending pocket money on ice lollies, to their time working there or using the garage.
