WREXHAM AFC has welcomed the first three local businesses to its official partnership scheme.

Ifor Williams Trailers, Town and Country Property Auctions and Barlows, based locally but with national and international reputations in their respective fields, are now officially proud partners of Wales’ oldest professional football club.

Ifor Williams Trailers Head of Sales Rob Small said: “The decision to sponsor Wrexham AFC back in 2016 was a very personal one for the directors and staff of Ifor Williams Trailers, many of whom are passionate lifelong fans.

“It’s fair to say it’s been a real rollercoaster of a ride but little did we expect what was to come next with the absolutely incredible news that Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds wanted to take over the club.

“We were particularly encouraged to see that Rob and Ryan had done their homework to get under the skin of the club. They clearly understood and respected the club’s history, its sense of community and the passion of the fans.

“Just when we thought things couldn’t get any better, we were blown away and humbled when Rob and Ryan used a hilarious spoof sales video for one of our horseboxes as the vehicle to announce the takeover.

“It soon racked up five million views on Twitter and we were being contacted by people from all over the world – we even had a message from a Canadian astronaut so it was out of this world too.

“It was all unbelievably surreal and we even had a TV crew from ABC News in America coming to film with us.

“But we’re glad to say the story doesn’t end there. We are staying hitched to Wrexham AFC as the club’s primary local sponsor and the official short sponsor for the next two years.”

One of the two new faces to the commercial partnerships, are Town and Country Property Auctions becoming the club's Official Property Auction Partner.

Neil McDonald, from Town & Country, said: "Having supported Wrexham AFC for more than 40 years, we are delighted to announce our commercial partnership with Wrexham AFC and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship.

“Based locally our intention as a prominent local business is to work with Wrexham AFC to build and enhance further longstanding relationships within the community."

Finally, another long-standing supporter of the club has tied in as a partner as Barlows become the official Electrical, Fire & Security Installation Provider for Wrexham AFC.

Matthew Scott, from Barlows, said: “Barlows are delighted to become a partner of the Football Club during these exciting times.

“The Club is becoming more visible in the community which is a good thing and something we strongly believe in, taking on a lot of apprentices and a lot of contracts within the Wrexham area.

“We feel it’s going to continue to help us strengthen our ties locally and with the community and we’re excited to be part of the Wrexham journey as it improves and goes along.”
