NORTH Wales Police has referred itself to a watchdog following a two-vehicle crash in Deeside which left multiple people with serious injuries.
The force has referred itself to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) following the incident in Garden City during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The IOPC has confirmed an investigation is underway into the incident, which had seen officers in a marked North Wales Police vehicle pursue a Mercedes that was seen travelling at speed on the A483.
Fifteen minutes into the chase the Mercedes was involved in a crash with the taxi in Garden City - with four people were taken to hospital with serious, but non life threatening injuries.
