A BUSINESS owner from Connah's Quay has pioneered a best-selling book project celebrating the inner strength and resilience of female entrepreneurs.

Katherine Massey, 46, featured 15 women from across the British Isles in Seen, which topped the Amazon UK charts in six different categories on the strength of pre-orders alone.

The book collaboration was officially launched on World Mental Health Day (October 10) with all proceeds going to Milestone Mums – a peer support group for mothers with mental health problems.

Local mum Lisa Williams, 35, one of the co-authors of the best-selling book, said: "Katherine has made our dreams of being an author come true, with her passion and strength to give us this safe space to share our stories."

In the book, Lisa shares her story: 'How I felt worthless as a woman’ detailing how multiple miscarriages had a detrimental effect on her mindset.

Seen, hosts a collection of powerful stories, hope, strength, and resilience. Katherine has beautifully brought together these women, sharing their vulnerabilities from miscarriage, leukaemia, alcoholism, anxiety, stress and much more.

Katherine shared with us how she wanted to help female entrepreneurs stand proud in their purpose while guiding, encouraging, and facilitating them to be seen.

She says she works with so 'many wonderful women all with amazing stories and backgrounds'. Katherine felt it was time for her to create a platform where they could come together and share their experiences while letting their courage inspire future generations.

This book is a collection of hope, bravery and reflection. The official launch party for Seen was hosted by contributor Nicky Kilnan at her home in Chester, with fellow authors travelling locally from North Wales, as well as further afield – including Scotland, Coventry and Hertfordshire.

In a heartfelt speech, Katherine said: “It’s been emotional for all the contributors and for me. I feel I have lived every day, week and month as they have shared their fear and vulnerability of being seen. I am confident these women now recognise the power that storytelling has to not only heal and overcome, but to rise above.”

Milestone Mums founder Sarah Finlay added: “I was completely overwhelmed and grateful that such inspiring women felt that we should be given the proceeds from Seen. This book truly aligns with my ethos of giving others hope at a time when they are in despair. It will help inspire and encourage other mums to believe that mental health doesn’t have to be a reason to give up.”
