A MEMORIAL bench in honour of a much-loved councillor has been unveiled at a Flintshire park.

Councillor Lynne Pritchard, who died earlier this year, was 'instrumental' in fundraising and regenerating Gwernaffield Park, near Mold, along with members of the community.

That is according to the Gwernaffield and Pantymwyn Community Council who have just recently unveiled a new accessible park bench at the site in memory of Cllr Pritchard.

Gwernaffield Park is now a popular and well used area enjoyed by many local children and families.

The Clerk of Gwernaffield and Pantymwyn Community Council, Kay Roberts, said: “The bench is just a small gesture from the Community Council to remember Councillor Lynne Pritchard and her tireless work to regenerate the park.

"Lynne was a pleasure to work with and had so much energy and passion for her community and always wanted to improve matters for the well being of the whole community."

In attendance at the recent bench unveiling were Aura Play and Leisure Services' Richard Roberts, community council clerk Kay Roberts, Cllr. Lynne Pritchard’s daughter Rachel Foley and vice chair of the community council Ruth Appleton.
