AN EVENT was held in Glyn Ceiriog aimed at bringing people together after the lockdown periods.
The Community Open Day was held at Canolfan Ceiriog on on Saturday (October 23) and brought together people of all ages in an event intended to signal a return to some normality after the various lockdowns.
The event was mostly out in the open air or within an open marquee.
A Community Inclusion Grant from Wrexham Council meant that those attending were treated to free refreshments and entertainment.
There was singing from local performers, and younger children were given free balloons to model and pumpkins to shape and youths of all ages were treated to riding on a hired pump track for the day.
The pump track was funded with another grant from Wrexham County Borough Council, North Wales Police and Glyn Ceiriog Community Council.
Clwyd South MP Simon Baynes was in attendance and met representatives of the Museum at the Ceiriog Memorial Institute, Bryn Hughes and Peter Bates.
Trevor Bates, councillor for the Ceiriog Valley, said: "I was really pleased to see so many people turn out on Saturday, it was great to see so many families enjoying themselves out together, it was almost like pre-Covi.
"Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this a special day in the Ceiriog Valley."
