SPECULATION is mounting that Wrexham AFC's superstar owners could make their first appearance at the football club's Racecourse ground this weekend.

Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney officially announced their high-profile takeover of the club in February of this year.

According to Sportsmail, the pair are rumoured to be lining up an appearance alongside one another during the club's Vanarama National League clash against Torquay United on Saturday (October 30).

A new viewing platform has just recently been erected in the Macron Stand and it is understood that that is where the pair are expected to take their place for the match.

Deadpool star Reynolds and McElhenney, famous for his role as 'Mac' in 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia', have reportedly been planning to visit the Racecourse for some time, but Covid-19 restrictions have meant this has proved difficult.

The pair's takeover of Wrexham AFC, which included a £2m investment, was granted following a unanimous vote of approval from the Wrexham Supporters Trust.

Despite the takeover and signs of promise both on and off the field, Wrexham missed out on promotion from the National League last season.

Manager Dean Keates was replace by current boss Phil Parkinson and a number of marquee signings were made over the summer, including 20/21 League Two Player of the Season Paul Mullin, who arrived on a three-year deal from Cambridge United.

The Dragons have had mixed bag of results to date this season and currently sit 11th in the National League table.

Wrexham AFC has declined to comment on Reynolds and McElhenney's potential visit but supporters of the club will certainly be excited by the prospect of seeing their heroes in person at the Racecourse.
