AS PETROL prices soar towards an all-time high, we look at the cheapest places in Flintshire and Wrexham to get it.

Nationally, prices have risen by more than 26p per litre in the past 12 months, adding £14 to the cost of filling up a typical 55-litre family car.

The RAC has attributed rising petrol prices to several factors, including the increase in the cost of oil, September’s switch to E10 petrol and the impact of VAT.

In Flintshire, the cheapest place to get unleaded fuel is the Newbridge Filling Station in Ewloe - 135.9p to the litre.

The next two cheapest places are at the Essar garage at Loggerheads and Morrisons in Saltney - at 137.p.

Of those listed on price comparisons sites, the most expensive place to get unleaded fuel in Flintshire is at the Shell forecourt on the A55 Northop services - where it's priced at 148.9p.

The cheapest place to get unleaded petrol in Wrexham is at the Tesco Extra forecourt - at 137.9p.

The priciest place is the Shell garage on Holt Road - where it's priced at 145.9p.

The average price of unleaded fuel in Flintshire is currently 140.8p, and is the same in Wrexham. This is lower than the current national average of 142.1p.
