OVER 160 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Flintshire and Wrexham.
Public Health Wales figures released on Sunday show that there was 163 new cases confirmed in the 24-hour period between 9am on Thursday (October 21) and 9am on Friday (October 22).
Of these, 87 were in Flintshire and 76 in Wrexham.
As of October 18, Flintshire's seven-day infection rate stood at 374, while Wrexham's was at 368.
Across North Wales as a whole, 410 new cases of the virus were confirmed.
Despite infection rates remaining relatively high, hospitalisation rates are low.
As of October 17 there were 85 people being treated for Covid-19 in North Wales hospitals - which makes up roughly 4 per cent of all inpatients at the region's hospitals.
This is compared to over 300 at the peak of the second wave of the virus.
Sadly, a further 12 people who had tested Covid positive in the last 28 days died in the latest 24-hour period.
