A MAN arrested after a collision which closed several roads in Wrexham has been bailed, police have confirmed.

The Leader reported over the weekend how police were called shortly after 4am on Saturday to a road traffic collision involving a grey Mercedes A Class and a doorman in Abbott Street.

Minutes later, a second road traffic collision happened involving the same car and a taxi on a roundabout which connects Ruabon Road with Victoria Road.

Following the collision, the driver of the Mercedes became trapped inside the car and was assisted out by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

He provided a positive roadside sample of breath at the scene and was arrested and taken to police custody.

North Wales Police confirmed on Monday morning that the driver has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The incidents saw four roads closed.
