Partners in Crime

Over the coming weeks, Welsh Libraries in partnership with Estyn Allan will broadcast via social media channels a series of exclusive videos featuring crime writers from Wales. The videos will highlight authors talking about their books, their writing processes, plus workshops relating to the art of crime writing. Welsh language videos will feature English subtitles so you won't miss a thing. If you've missed last week's video's visit our Facebook pages at Llyfrgelloedd Wrecsam or Wrexham Libraries. Next week we will be featuring Gwen Parrott, Louise Mumford, Myfanwy Alexander, G B Williams and Philip Gwyn Jones. We look forward to having your company.

Knit and Natter

Knitting isn't just about creating new cardigans or socks; research has found it can reduce depression and anxiety, slow down the onset of dementia, distract from chronic pain and can lower your heart rate by 11 beats per minute. Throw in a dollop of a good old natter in a comfortable and relaxed environment and you could be on your way to improving your health and wellbeing. Knit and Natter sessions are now taking place in Ruabon Library every Friday afternoon. So why not join the group where a warm welcome and a cup of tea awaits you?

Book Review

My One True North by Milly Johnson

My One True North by Milly Johnson

My One True North by Milly Johnson

I love the books by this author, and this one did not disappoint me. The characters are good and written about so clearly that you can easily imagine them being real people. Laurie and Pete have just gone through their own separate tragedies, even though they don't know each other. They are both really struggling with their grief, so it's suggested by their respective friends that they go to a counselling group where they can both talk. We also meet a few characters who pop up from other books. This book has secrets, lies, love, hope and forgiveness, the only disappointing feature was that I finished it too quickly. Although sad at times it did make me feel good at the end! Tina
