A LIFE-LONG Wrexham AFC fan was made up when his daughter presented him with a bespoke upcycled gift on his birthday.
Shannon-Lea Wynne made the table in secret for dad Mark, using her design and painting skills to transform an oil drum into a table celebrating the club.
She then got her uncle Gary Sides at GS Country Carving to make the table top, featuring Mark''s favourite animals, out of wood.
Mark was thrilled to receive the gift on his "forty-something" birthday at his home in Pontblyddyn.
He said he would put it in the garden and enjoy it with a bottle or two of Wrexham Lager's Bootlegger 1974 Pilsner.
He tweeted: "Well happy with my Birthday present handmade by my beautiful daughter and table top done by GS Country Carving.
"Gonna put it in garden later to sit around with a @bootlegger1974."
Shannon told the Leader how she put the unique gift together.
She said: "It's made from an oil drum from my friend's garage in Johnstown. They gave me a few of them to make something out of, so I used paint to decorate it. I did the Wrexham crest by hand. The top is the end of a cable rail.
"I had to pick things up from places like Abergele, so it took about two days. My friends at Tan-Y-Clawdd helped show me how to do the grinding and the bolts."
She added: "My dad is a life-long Wrexham fan. He's a season ticket holder and is always in a Wrexham top.
"He's also the fussiest person I've ever met, whenever you ask him what he wants he's like 'I don't know'. But he does a lot for me and, instead of doing chocolates or buying a pair of socks, I wanted to put some effort in and do something special. We have a nice garden, he's been doing it up, and I thought it would look nice there.
"It was quite a surprise for him."
Shannon-Lea hopes her experience making the gift could become a nice little earner.
She added: ""I've never done anything like this before, but I've got another about twenty of these oil drums. So if anyone wants one doing - a table for the garden or a wedding - I would love to make more.
"I like art and doing stuff, I don't like sitting still."
