An event that celebrates the work of artists in North Wales is returning, and accepting submissions.

The North Wales Art Open puts local talent from around the region in the spotlight, and takes place in Theatr Clwyd's Gallery.

The exhibition has been running annually at Theatr Clwyd for more than 35 years and they are delighted to announce its return this year.

Artists of all ages from or living in North Wales are now invited to apply to be part of the competition exhibition.

Each participant can submit up to four pieces, and works can be of any medium including printmaking, painting, photography, sculpture, video and sound, textiles, and crafts.

The exhibition will run from Friday, October 29, 2021, right through until Friday, January 7, 2022. The deadline for applications will be open until Monday, October 11 at 5pm.

The exhibited display will be selected by award-winning Wrexham-based artist Rhi Moxon, an illustrator and printmaker from Wales.

The prize-winning entries will be selected by a guest panel of acclaimed artists. Artists displaying their work in the exhibition will have the opportunity to sell their work to the public whilst on display.

A Theatr Clwyd spokesperson said: "We are surrounded by incredible talent here in North Wales and are always looking at ways to celebrate and shout about it.

"The high standard and diverse range of entries we have had in the past always makes for an exciting exhibition.

"We would encourage armatures and professionals alike to join with us in celebrating artistic creativity in North Wales."
