CHILDREN at a Flint primary school had a special visitor drop by this week.

Pupils were treated to a special reading by Jade Jones OBE, who hails from the town, of her new books brought out in conjunction with Dreams about the importance of getting a good nights sleep.

The top taekwondo star took a trip down memory lane by returning to her former primary school, Ysgol Gwynedd.

During her visit on Tuesday, September 21, Jade spoke to the Leader about her fond memories of school - adding a lot of the inside of the school building remains as she remembered it.

She told us: “Its been amazing coming back to see all the children and teachers. They've been asking all sorts of questions about my training and being at the Olympics - and they were really chuffed to see the medals.

"Driving up here, it was kind of surreal seeing where you used to walk into the school. The entrance has changed as its new but the inside is pretty much the same as remember."

Many excitable children got to ask Jade questions as she toured the building - but one lucky class got to go home with a signed copy of her storybook having just read it with the local Olympian.

The book follows a young Jade growing up and Wales and taking up the sport that would ultimately change her life.

It brings with it a positive message to always follow your dreams - but also the importance of a good nights sleep to set you up right for the next day ahead.
