OVER 200 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Flintshire and Wrexham.

Public Health Wales figures released on Thursday (September 16) show that of the 211 new cases in the two counties, 128 were in Flintshire and 83 in Wrexham.

Flintshire's seven-day infection rate is at 392, while Wrexham's stands at 386.

Across the North Wales region as a whole, 579 new cases have been confirmed.

Sadly, a further four people who had tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 28 days have died in Wales in the latest 24-hour period.

As of September 12, there were 121 people being treated for Covid-19 in North Wales - this has climbed by 32 since the last information on Covid inpatients in North Wales was released.

The number of Covid patients in North Wales hospitals makes up roughly 5 per cent of all inpatients at the region's hospitals.

Over 2.2 million people in Wales are double vaccinated against Covid-19.
