Tell us a bit about yourself:

I'm 48 and work for Airbus in Broughton. I've lived in Mold for 45 years but was born in Australia as my parents emigrated in the Early 70s. I obviously can't remember it but would like to visit one day.

What do you most like about where you live?

Location and people. As a keen runner, you’re never far away from the countryside or the coast.

And as a Mold person, most of us can't walk down the street without saying hello or stopping to talk to someone, you don't get that in the city.

Places or things to do someone visiting should make the effort to go to:

Moel Famau - my playground. Depending on route/time of day, you will hardly see anybody, absolutely bliss. At times with views of Snowdonia and the coast.

Moel Findeg, Maeshafn - as with Moel Famau but with views over Mold/Cheshire and the Clwydians.

And finally the lanes around town, best of both worlds, from a town to country in less than one mile.

Best memory of your time living here?

I love every Remembrance Sunday when the town comes together and honours our fallen heroes. Never forget.

Favourite local pub?

Mold & District Ex-Servicemens Club. An old style pub where we all meet before heading up town. Sometimes end up staying and putting the world to rights.

What one thing that has gone do you miss most?

My grandad. Twenty one years on he still has a massive influence on my thoughts and love of the outdoors. He worked in Platts and I miss out chats.

Are you a Wrexham AFC fan? What other local team/sport do you enjoy?

Unfortunately not but have a passing interest and hope they do well. I used to watch local Sunday football. My passion is running, so if you see an idiot on Moel Famau at 5am, that’ll be me.

Favourite building in the region?

Top Church (St Mary’s Church, Mold) all day long. It's a stunning building and I’ve seen a lot of friends and family married/christened there. I love how it always seems to be the same temperature in there.

Where would you go for a special meal?

A tough question with me being single but I'd have to say the Fat Boar, Mold.

Best place for a walk and why?

Moel Famau. Not an easy walk but worth it, stunning in all weathers.

One thing you would change or that the area needs?

Definitely needs more cycle paths. The roads around here are dangerous and definitely put me off riding my bike on them!!

Tell us a bit about yourself:

I am 49, and a civil servant working out of the Liverpool and Manchester offices (in non-covid times).

I’ve lived here 25 years, initially moving here for work. My husband was working near Rhyl, and Mold was the halfway point.

What do you most like about where you live?

I love being in a small market town, and I love the countryside, the community feel and the people. I like the town layout, with the Daniel Owen Square. The schools are great and it's a friendly town with lots going on.

Places or things to do someone visiting should make the effort to go to:

The Saturday market - too few markets are left, and the Mold one is fab.

Bailey Hill - the history is brilliant and it's lovely having it in the town centre, especially now the improvement work has been.

Theatr Clwyd - the productions are brilliant and there are so many extra workshops etc.

Best memory of your time living here?

Saturday morning at the market with a leisurely coffee, plus lots of happy times river splodging when the kids were little.

Favourite local pub?

Glasfryn.

What one thing that has gone do you miss most?

Co-op when it was by Iceland.

Are you a Wrexham AFC fan? What other local team/sport do you enjoy?

No. Follow Deeside Dragons Ice Hockey. Missing the rink and matches.

Favourite building in the region?

I love the structure of the high street - the old Black Lion Hotel doors by where B&M were; the WH Smith building. There are some very handsome but often overlooked buildings on the high street. The view from Lot11's window seat is great. The church is also lovely.

Outside of Mold, I love the Tivoli building in Buckley, and I'm one of the few people who likes the council 60s block by Theatr Clwyd.

Where would you go for a special meal?

Parivaar- best place to eat ever!

Best place for a walk and why?

Loggerheads and Wepre Park are our favourites. I also enjoy walking from home (upper Bryn Coch) up 'Weary Willie' (don't know why it's called that though) up towards Gwerynymynydd.

One thing you would change or that the area needs?

More cycle paths/lanes. And in the town centre, I'd love to see more dining tables/chairs in the Daniel Owen Square. It would be great if the library and Daniel Owen Centre had French doors onto the square.
