A FLINTSHIRE teenager has been handed a conditional discharge after she damaged a police custody facility door.

Chelsea Fekete, of Old Chester Road in Milwr, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The 18-year-old admitted one offence of criminal damage, which took place at the North Wales Police eastern command and custody facility in Llay on July 10.

Justin Espie, prosecuting, told the court that on the day in question Fekete had been arrested for a matter which had not been brought before the court.

She was taken to the custody facility in Llay and put into the exercise yard.

There she took a metal strip from her face mask and scratched graffiti into the exercise yard door.

Asked by officers to stop, she responded "I'm not bothered."

Simon Simmons, defending, said: "She scratched 'I've had enough' and drew a butterfly. "I've visited the exercise yard - it's not the most picturesque of places."

He added his client has a young child and PTSD, and appears to now be making "good progress."

The magistrates handed Fekete a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered her to pay £100 compensation, a £22 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
