HOLLYWOOD actor-turned-Wrexham AFC-owner Ryan Reynolds spoke of his excitement at taking over at The Racecourse on national television tonight.

The Deadpool star was full of praise for both the reds and the Wrexham community itself on BBC's The One Show earlier tonight.

Reynolds and fellow Hollywood star Rob McElhenney completed their high profile takeover of the club in February.

Since then, they have been taking a hands-on approach at the club despite being based thousands of miles away.

The pair have just recently appointed Phil Parkinson as manager of the club and have even helped persuade last season's League Two Player of the Season and Cambridge United top scorer Paul Mullin to sign for the club.

Reynolds appeared on The One Show tonight and spoke to Welsh presenter Alex Jones about the takeover.

He said: "We're very very excited - the Wrexham club is incredible. More incredible still is the community around it.

"This is as much a project investing in the Wrexham red dragons as it is investing in the Wrexham community itself so we're really excited."

Jones then replied by saying that the takeover of the club was 'weird' but that 'she was chuffed it was happening' in Wales.

Reynolds replied: "I think once people get to know Wrexham a little bit better they're going to see how it's not weird at all. It's spot on."
