A FAMILY fun day with live music is being held in aid of a "very special" three-year-old Wrexham girl battling a rare cancer.

The event takes place this Saturday (July 31) at the Hafod Colliery Club in Rhosllanerchrugog and is raising funds for Aria Hodgkiss - who has an inoperable brain tumour, known as DIPG.

However, there is hope for little Aria and her family - with her receiving a new form of treatment in the form of the ONC201 drug which could help extend her life.

But the treatment isn't available on the NHS - meaning Aria's family must pay for it. And it will eventually cost them €1,000 Euros a week to import it from Germany.

Saturday's event aims to raise as many funds as possible for Aria's cause.

It is an outdoor event and will start at 4pm and will include live music and entertainment, fairground rides, stalls, hot food and a bar.

Admission is by donation and all proceeds will go the Ariva vs DIPG campaign.
