A BUCKLEY community centre's garden revamp has been welcomed.
The Leader reported earlier this year how plans for The 'Hawkesbury Covid Garden 2021' were announced for the rear of Hawkesbury Community Centre.
New artificial grass was installed last week and groups using it have said it is fantastic and very helpful in times of covid as it enables greater numbers outside to comply with Welsh Government Guidance.
Cllr David Ellis, chairman of the community centre, told the Leader: "The artificial grass (240 square metres) was fully funded by Hawkesbury Community Centre management committee and we believe it will benefit the user groups and members of the community in Buckley that wish to hire the centre.
"The Community Garden will be used more all year round.
"The Gazebo was supplied by Hawkesbury Playgroup for the outside classroom they have in place.
"The area is totally secure for all users and fenced all around with CCTV in place for security.
"The management committee are very happy with the progress made at the Community Centre, which they consider one of the best in Flintshire, and have managed to keep going through the difficult times that covid 19 has presented to all.
"We would like to thank Simon Barbet of high tech turf who installed the artificial grass and Paul Ducker who erected the Gazebo."
