FANS have been buying the new Wrexham AFC away shirt online and in person this morning.

The club has launched a Philadelphia-inspired away kit for the upcoming 2021-22 season in honour of co-owner Rob McElhenney.

One of the first non-players to be seen in the kit was Rob's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-star Charlie Day.

Rob posted a Tik Tok video of Charlie in the green shirt as well as a Wrexham AFC cap.

In the video he asks how much he's getting paid before bringing it to an end when he finds out the truth.

The shirt, the club say, features newly signed partners TikTok, Aviation Gin, Expedia and a personal touch from Ro.

Wrexham next season will recognise co-chairman Rob McElhenney’s hometown of Philadelphia, with the green of the city’s most known team, the Philadelphia Eagles - as well as the collar and unique lace unlike anything in football.

The back of the shirt is just as personal, with the words ‘It’s Always Sunny…’ stitched in tribute to ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ - Rob’s award-winning comedy which has been enjoyed by so many since first airing in 2005 alongside his wife, Kaitlin Olson, Danny DeVito, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day.

Co-chairman Rob McElhenney said: “I’m delighted that this kit brings together two of my great loves: Wrexham AFC and Philadelphia.

“I hope we build great memories together, in this famous green.”
