WREXHAM Lager have done it again!

Another year, another competition and another gold medal for the town's world-famous brew.

Wrexham Lager Beer Company won a gold medal for the quality and taste of its beer at the European Beer Challenge 2021.

Wrexham Export Lager won gold and the new Bootlegger 1974 Pilsner Lager won bronze.

Wrexham Lager has become synonymous with the town whose name it bears. It has risen, declined, and risen again, and now, based at a new town centre brewery, it is seen as an essential part of the flourishing North Wales food and drinks sector.

First brewed in 1882, Wrexham Lager was the first lager imported to far off countries, including India, South Africa, the Americas and Australia. It also has the infamous honour of being the only lager available on the doomed voyage of the White Star Line’s Titanic.

One of the directors of the family-run business Jon Roberts said "We strive for excellence at the brewery and these awards reinforce our belief that what we are doing is right.

"I am very proud of the whole team at the brewery."
