THOUSANDS of children across Flintshire are self-isolating due to coronavirus, Flintshire Council confirms.
As coronavirus cases continue to rise as the Delta variant becomes the most dominant strain, more children are being required to self-isolate after coming into contact with a positive case.
Flintshire’s Chief Officer for Education and Youth, Claire Homard, confirmed the latest figures for school children self-isolating as of July 6.
This includes 2,342 high school learners and 690 primary school learners.
Data released by Public Health Wales on July 6 show that 698 new Covid cases were recorded in Wales - of which 195 were in the North.
Flintshire saw 59 new cases with a daily rate of 37.8 per 100,000 people.
