A SCHEME that has helped keep hundreds of Flintshire homes out of the cold has recently opened a base on Greenfield Business Park.

Arbed am Byth, the delivery partner for the Welsh Government’s Warm Homes Programme, has set up its regional base in North Wales having helped hundreds of homes keep warm over the last decade.

Welsh Government has funded the Warm Homes Programme since 2011 to improve energy efficiency of homes across Wales, helping to alleviate fuel poverty whilst also tackling climate change through preventing energy from being wasted.

In the Delyn constituency, approximately 500 homes have benefitted from around £4 million of energy efficiency improvements - from installing solar panels and new heating systems, to improving insulation to help prevent heat escaping from homes.

The new office was visited in June by Delyn’s MS, Hannah Blythyn, along with Arbed am Byth Managing Director, Crispin Jones and the company mascot, Dafad.

Following the visit Ms Blythyn said: “It was great to visit the North Wales office for Arbed am Byth, which has created a fixed base for the Warm Homes Scheme in our corner of the country.

“I have seen first-hand how the Warm Homes Programme has benefitted families, including many in parts of Mostyn and am keen to work with partners to see further schemes take place in our communities.

“Though not all areas or homes may be eligible for the scheme, I remain on hand to support families to access other support which may be available.”

Managing Director of Arbed am Byth, Crispin Jones, added: “We were delighted to welcome Hannah Blythyn MS to our Greenfield office and to show Hannah the benefits we have been able to bring to over 500 homes locally.

“Flintshire residents have supported Arbed strongly and for this we are very grateful. This support has enabled Arbed am Byth to help a number of community initiatives in Delyn, as part of the scheme”.
