MOTORISTS have been left feeling 'stressed' due to a narrow Llangollen road that causes traffic issues.

Bus driver John Pritchard from Rhos said something needs to be done about Parade Street in Llangollen which is narrow enough as it is, but with cars parked either side it becomes 'near impossible' for large vehicles to pass.

Earlier this week one double decker bus found itself stuck on the road, resulting in building traffic and another bus missing out the stop completely.

John said: "It's been like that for the last few years but especially since they made it a one way.

"There are signs that you can park for an hour but then leave but you see some of them cars parked there that haven't moved in weeks.

"The council haven't been listening, it's happened to me a few times where you struggle to get around the corner.

"My colleague who was working yesterday couldn't get to the bus stop because another bus had got stuck so he had to miss it completely, whether people were waiting there we don't know.

"It's been a major issue for years but no-one is taking notice.

"That road is too narrow for large vehicles. If parking was just on one side maybe things would be easier. If the bus stop was moved to the main road it would cause traffic issues."

John, who works for Lloyds Coaches, said other people are missing out as they are left unable to get the bus they may need from that stop.

He added: "My colleague had to phone the office to say he couldn't get to the bus stop and carried on his journey, he was running late as it was because of traffic due to the stuck Arriva bus.

"There are traffic wardens but nothing is done, maybe if people were ticketed it would prevent them parking there.

"I've been at Lloyds Coaches for five years and it's always been an issue, but even before that, nothing is being done.

"Other bus drivers from other companies have the same problems as well, we are all in the same boat.

"I just hope something is done. It gets to the point where we are tempted to not go in and it's not supposed to be like that. It's very stressful and then people complain."

Denbighshire Council has been approached for comment.
