CAMERON GREEN has signed his first full contract with Wrexham

The left-back joined the Reds on non-contract terms in April following a successful trial and has now put pen to paper on a permanent contract until the end of the 2021/22 campaign, with the option of a further year.

Since arriving at The Racecourse, Green impressed in six starts after replacing the injured Jamie Reckord.

Green was in the football wilderness after leaving Watford in the summer of 2020 and hadn't played this season before the 22-year-old, training with Queens Park Rangers' second string, was recommended to then-Wrexham boss Dean Keates..

On signing his new deal, Green told the official club website: “It should be an exciting time. Everyone is aware of what we want to achieve and to be a part of that excites me.

“I spoke to a lot of the boys when I joined and they all said the fans are brilliant, but unfortunately I didn’t get to experience that so I’m itching to see what that hype is about.

“I think there’s a great group of boys there. I get on well with them – I was even on holiday with a few of them, so it proves that, and hopefully we can achieve something great together.”

Green helped Wrexham register four wins and a draw in the six matches he played during the final month of the season.

He added: “I went in, not really expecting to play but just worked hard in training and, unfortunately, it came from Recks getting injured.

“I’m just grateful I managed to take my chance and earn myself a contract.”
