CORONAVIRUS cases have been confirmed at three high schools in Flintshire.

A case has been confirmed at Hawarden High School and involves a Year 9 student.

The school said on Sunday that all close contacts of the case have been identified and have been instructed to self-isolate.

The remainder of the year group and all other students can attend school on Monday.

Students in Year 8 of Flint High School have been asked to self-isolate on Monday after a positive case was identified there.

Headteacher Mr Jim Connelly confirmed the news in a tweet on Sunday.

He said: “Year 8 have to self isolate tomorrow. We will update all platforms and contact individuals affected once we investigate contacts.”

A third Flintshire High Schools has also told pupils to self isolate on Monday.

The Alun School in Mold has also received notification of a positive case in Year 7.

“Pupils in 7DH and any pupils who travelled on the ZS06 Pantymwyn bus on Fri will need to self isolate.

“An email with information about self isolation will follow. Please can students check their school email accounts.”
