On the Recommended Reads shelf at Ruabon Library this week are: Queenspotting by Hilary Kearney - the author dares readers to find the queen bee in the book, with puzzles and close up photos of the queen hidden among her subjects. For younger readers there is The Accidental Rockstar by Tom McLaughlin, an entertaining and funny story from the Accidental Series; and for historical mystery fans The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley is a fast paced, mysterious adventure story full of magic and intrigue. BorrowBox - a fresh new look

BorrowBox has launched a fresh new look for their website which is intuitive and easy to use. The new website not only looks great but has also been made more responsive so that it displays better on different types of smartphones. It also highlights the Reading List feature so that you can enjoy creating your own personal reading wish list. CrimeFest shortlist announced

CrimeFest is a convention for people who like to read an occasional crime novel as well as for die-hard fanatics. Drawing top crime novelists, readers, editors, publishers and reviewers from around the world, it gives all representatives the opportunity to celebrate the genre in a friendly, informal and inclusive atmosphere. The 2021 CrimeFest Awards will be presented in an online video on June 1, 2021, and include categories such as Specsavers Debut Crime Novel, Audible Sounds of Crime Award, e-Dunnit Award, The Last Laugh Award, Best Crime Novel for Children and much more. BBC2 Book Club - Between the Covers

BBC2's Between the Covers is back for a second series on Monday evenings at 7.30pm. Between the Covers gives audiences everywhere the opportunity to take part in a nationwide TV book club.

Hosted by Sara Cox, each episode features two reviews; a big hitter book from the last year as well as a newly published book. Four celebrity guests will also each bring with them their favourite book of all time to share with the other guests. If you've missed any episodes you can catch up on BBC iPlayer and you can borrow any copy from your local library.
