A Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Vans business in the North West and North Wales has welcomed three new recruits.

As part of this investment in people, eStar Truck & Van, the newest has welcomed Morgan Newton, 19, Matthew Hughes, 20, and Lauren Thistleton, 19.

The firm, established in 2020, employs more than 300 people across Deeside, Warrington, Liverpool, Stoke-on-Trent, and Trafford Park.

The award-winning Talent Development Programme, developed by Mercedes-Benz, is designed to train and support the next generation of van sales professionals, by providing structured learning, secondments and placements which will focus on brand, product, sales techniques and customer service.

Morgan, Matthew, and Lauren will achieve success through a mix of practical, hands-on experience underpinned by a support network, using a 70:20:10 framework; 70% of each trainee’s development will occur through on-the-job tasks and problem solving; 20% of development will take place through feedback, observation and liaison with mentors, coaches and leaders; and 10% of development will be as a result of formal training.

Steve Bridge, managing director, said: “We always look for highly motivated and capable individuals across our growing business, and make sure we invest in them to grow, nurture and retain the talent of the future. We are committed to developing our people and supporting them every step of the way, with a real focus on wellbeing, physical and psychological safety, and learning, which is why we’re so pleased to welcome Morgan, Matthew, and Lauren to eStar.

"Already, their collective energy, attitude, and desire to learn is impressing everyone who meets them and we look forward to following their journey to becoming the stars of the future.”

Speaking about her experience at eStar so far, Morgan said: “I was warmly welcomed into the team and immediately felt part of the family. Working alongside highly experienced professionals provides me with the initial foundations and platforms to thrive and succeed within my career at Mercedes-Benz. I am very proud to be part of a growing and evolutionary brand that aims to support and assist customers and colleagues.”

Matthew added: “I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to be part of such an exciting and promising training course. Although I’m no expert on selling vans yet (I will be soon), everyone has welcomed me with open arms. I already feel like a part of the eStar family.”

“I am really enjoying the role so far. There are so many different responsibilities within the sales department; we are constantly busy learning! can’t wait to be able to put the theory I am learning into practice. I’m looking forward to progressing with the training and developing in my role here at eStar.
