ANIMAL rescues across Flintshire are looking for people to provide a forever home for these adorable animals.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) in Trelogan, near Holywell, looks after dozens of furry friends that are all looking for a family of their own – including cats, dogs and rabbits.

Under the current Welsh Government lockdown measures, the centre is open for outdoors visits but these must be made by appointment only using NCAR’s online boking system.

Staff are keen for people who think they'll make a perfect pet owner to get in touch as online adoptions are still going ahead.

To find out more about these animals, and view their full range of animals up for adoption, go to the NCAR website - https://ncar.org.uk/animals/.

Below are just some of the cute cats who are currently waiting to be adopted…

Lola:

Age: Two years old

Volunteers describe Lola as a “sweet and active girl”.

Her profile states that into she came to the centre after not getting along with the dog in her previous home.

She is looking for a home where she can be the only pet and have all of the attention to herself.

The team say: “Lola is a friendly girl who likes attention, she could be rehomed with sensible children aged 8+.

“She is looking for a home where she has access to a safe outdoor area to explore as this is what she is used to previously.

“She is a very lively lass who likes to play, and we are sure she will be a fun addition to the right home.”

The Leader:

Sooty:

Age: One year old

The staff at NCAR say that Sooty was born in a holiday home park and was socialized by a couple of the residents.

Her profile continues: “She has come into the rescue to find a loving home. She needs a quiet home as she can be timid until she knows you.

“Sooty would like an adult home only as she has never been around children. She would like to be the only pet in the home.

“We are looking for a very quiet area traffic wise as she is not used to vehicles at all as the holiday home was closed due to COVID.”

If you have the time and patience to work with Sooty, she will reward you with her affectionate side.

The Leader:

Mylo:

Age: Two years old

Young Mylo found himself at NCAR after his owner’s circumstances changed

Volunteers say he previously lived in a very quiet home as a house cat - so after arriving at the centre he did struggle to settle initially and could be quite grumpy.

They continue: “Now that he has settled, he is showing his affectionate side - but can get fed up of attention at times and will let you know.

“People with cat experience, and experience of reading their body language is essential as he does try to communicate when he isn’t happy about something. He isn’t used to other animals so is looking to be the only pet in his next home.

“Although he was a house cat prior to arriving, we do feel he has potential to adjust to going outside eventually as long as it is a safe area away from busy roads.”

Mylo is looking for an adult only home as he has no experience of children at all.

This feline likes his toys and can be very playful at times, and volunteers are sure that once he has settled into a home, he will be a great companion to someone.

The Leader:

Doodle:

Age: Four months old

Kitten Doodle was found by NCAR as a stray. Volunteers describe her as ’a very friendly lass with loads of energy’.

The continue: “She will need to be restricted within the house until she is using her litter trays well then more rooms can be opened up for her to race around in.

“She could go to a home with children over ten years of age. She would like to be the only pet in the home.

“We are looking for her to have a garden to venture into after she settles into the home, away from any busy roads.”

The Leader:

Phoenix:

Age: Eight years old

Volunteers say that Phoenix has always been a house cat so his ideal home is somewhere he does not go outside.

The add: “He needs to be the only pet in the house. We are looking for an adult only home for him.

“He is an affectionate lad but needs time to get to know you first.”

The Leader:

Louis:

Age: Two years old

Louis is described as a ‘bold’ and ‘affectionate’ cat - but it can be on his terms.

The NCAR team writes: “Louis would like a home with a garden and no busy roads around.

“We are looking for a rural home for him as in his previous home he was well known for visiting all the neighbours.”

They add that he could go to a home with “a cat savvy dog” and “older, sensible teenagers”.

They continue: “If you could offer this lively lad a rural home then please fill in an adoption application form found on our website. We will give you a ring you if we think you would be suitable.”

The Leader:

Brownie:

Age: Seven years old

Brownie was brought into the rescue after a change of circumstances for his previous owners.

The team say: “We are looking for an adult home for him. He came to us very matted, so we are looking for someone who is used to caring for a long haired cat and has the time and patience to do so.

“He has a lovely temperament and enjoys a fuss. He needs a garden away from busy or fast roads.”
