OPPORTUNITIES are coming thick and fast for Welsh journalist turned social media superstar Maxine Hughes.

41-year-old Maxine became the breakout start of a new video trailer for forthcoming docu-series Welcome to Wrexham starring Wrexham AFC co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Since fans praised her performance as outshining the Hollywood A-listers, interest in Maxine has reached fever pitch.

During online banter, Wrexham Council wondered if they could get Maxine to translate some of their proceedings.

The council tweeted: "If available can we get @MaxineERHughes to translate our exec board meeting on the 8th June?"

Maxine's response was favourable, but warned that the council might not appreciate the kind of translations she makes in the video that have left people all over the world laughing.

Maxine is originally from Conwy but moved to the USA as a teenager. She lives in Washington DC and was flown to Los Angeles to film the video with Ryan and Rob.

In the Welcome to Wrexham video, Ryan and Rob explain how they are the new owners of Wrexham AFC and the series will follow them and the club.

But it is Welsh translator Maxine that steals the show as she "roasts" the Hollywood stars in her native language.

Welcome to Wrexham will be executive produced by McElhenney, Reynolds, Nick Frenkel and John Henion.

The series is produced by Broadwalk Pictures and UK and world broadcasters will be announced in due course.
