A POWER cut is affecting properties in Llangollen as thunder and lightning hits north east Wales.
Scottish Power says the power outage is affecting properties on Bridge Street, Castle Street Square and surrounding areas.
A spokesperson for the compnay said: "We had no advance warning of this and only became aware of it at 2.02pm. Our engineers have arrived on site and are investigating the cause of the fault.
"Our team will work to get power back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 5.15pm.
"We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
There are also reports of a power cut having occurred in the Chirk area which is said to be affecting some properties.
Heavy rain and thunder and lightning has arrived in north east Wales on Tuesday afternoon.
