THE HEARTBROKEN family of a young Flintshire mum have paid tribute to her following her tragic death.

Lizzy Evans, of Bagillt, died of cervical cancer on March 31 - she was just 27 years of age.

She had been diagnosed with cancer during her fourth pregnancy, but had been given the all clear last year.

However, a few months later the mother-of-four joy began to suffer with chronic muscular pain throughout her entire body.

Doctors put it down to early menopause as a side effect of the cancer treatment she'd already undergone, and she was prescribed with painkillers.

But when the pain got so severe that she had to call for an ambulance, further tests were carried out. It was then she was given the tragic news that not only had her cancer returned, but that it had spread to her lungs, spine and brain and was terminal.

Cherished daughter of Chrissy and Bryn, loving wife of Joshua and mum to Kylan, Paige, Archie and Evie-May, Lizzy will be very sadly missed by everyone who knew her.

Mum Chrissy paid a touching tribute to her.

She said: "Lizzy had a heart of gold. She was a very happy, bubbly girl and full of life, and always made everyone laugh.

"She was very family orientated and loved all her four children so much. She always made a special effort for birthdays and at Christmas time to be around her family, and had hoped to make it through to her birthday in May.

"Lizzy was always helping others, and even donated to Macmillan while she was sick - she had the kindest of hearts and I'm so proud of her."

Chrissy says Lizzy was "so strong through it all".

"She was full of hope and determination that she would beat it - that never wavered," Chrissy said.

"The night before her passing she asked me if she was going to die. Life can be so cruel - Lizzy had her whole life ahead of her.

"And four young children have been left without their mum. She will be sorely missed by us all."

After Lizzy died, Chrissy found a poem she had written for her and said it will now be something she will always treasure.

It says: "Mum, you are the one who will understand, always there to lend a hand.

"Your love is the root to my every storm, you have shielded me since the day I was born.

"You are my role model, support and queen, on your shoulder, I know I can lean.

"I love you mum, for all you do, thank you just for being you."

After her diagnoses in January, Lizzy got married to her partner, Joshua, at home.

Chrissy added: "She's left a big impact on everyone's hearts and her passing has left a huge hole in all our lives.

"Life is so empty without her and will never be the same again."

A fundraising page has been set up by local charity Belief in her memory - with the donations all going to her children's trust fund.

To date it, has raised nearly £5,500. You can donate to it by clicking here
