OVER 1,500 chocolate eggs were delivered by the Easter bunny to children across Mold.

In preparation for Easter, Mold Town Council contacted the Easter Bunny to ask if he would like to visit Mold to help deliver Easter eggs to the town's children.

And the Easter Bunny confirmed he was very egg-cited to be invited once again this year.

On Good Friday, the Easter Bunny, assisted by mayor of Mold, Cllr Teresa Carberry, deputy mayor, Cllr Sarah Taylor, Cllr Trevor Arnold and Cllr Tim Maunders, delivered over 1600 free Easter eggs to the town's younger residents, care homes and staff at Mold Community Hospital.

The eggs were largely donated courtesy of the generosity of local businesses.

With Covid cancelling many of the town’s events and many children being kept away from their friends during Covid the Easter Bunny and his helpers spread much needed cheer around the town.

Jane Evans, Mold Town Council's events and community engagement officer, said “We were able to deliver the Easter eggs totally free of charge thanks to the generosity of local businesses who donated towards the cost of the eggs and we would like to express our sincere thanks to the Synthite, Mega Electric NW, Newhome4U, Howdens, Jackson Fire and KMS Tool Hire & Sales.

"And Limelight Letting, Barnard Engineering, This Digital, Celtic Financial Planning, Outwrite PR, Tescos and Mold & Buckley Round Table.

"I would also like to thank our town councillors who volunteered to help deliver the eggs over the Bank Holiday and who were out from 10am through to 4pm delivering.

"We hope the small gesture put lots of smiles on residents faces.”
