FIREFIGHTERS were at the scene of a fire at Connah's Quay power station in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, April 3).
Two crews from Deeside and Flint were sent to Kelsterton Road at 4.47am and spent three around three hours tackling a blaze believed to have been caused by faulty machinery which had overheated.
Nobody was believed to have been hurt during the incident.
A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "We sent two crews to Kelsterton Road for 4.47am this morning and a stop was called at 7.45am.
"The fire is believed to have been started due to a fault which caused machinery to overheat. Damage done by the fire was confined to an outdoor area within the hydrogen compound - luckily no hydrogen cylinders were involved."
