A DEESIDE man who was caught drink-driving has paid the price in court.
Christopher Guest, of Mold Road in Connah’s Quay, had his case heard before North East Wales Magistrates Court without being in attendance.
On February 17 of this year, Guest was driving a Vauxhall Astra in Pen Y Bryn, Sychdyn, without proper insurance and whilst banned from being behind the wheel.
Upon being checked, the 35-year-old blew a sample of breath that gave a reading 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.
The current legal limit in Wales is 35mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, meaning he was more than double the legal limit.
As punishment, he was ordered to pay a penalty totalling £855 – including fines and court costs.
Guest was also told he could not drive for 46 months and must take an extended retest before getting his licence back.
