YSGOL BRYN GWALIA, MOLD
Year 4 pupils decorated the window at Alton Murphy Optometrists, on Mold's High Street, with yellow hearts to remember all those lives lost during the covid pandemic.
The display went up yesterday (March 23), exactly a year to the day that the whole country went into a national lockdown.
Store manager Kirsty Barton's daughter Lacey-Mae, eight, is a Year 4 pupil at the school, and they wanted to mark the national day of reflection, which is linked with Marie Curie.
Kirsty said: "We had quite a few people walking past who have been really taken by the display, and we'll leave them up for the rest of the week."
ST PAUL'S VA PRIMARY SCHOOL, WREXHAM
The school recently held a birthday party for all of the children.
Pupils enjoyed party games, dancing and celebrating with their friends throughout the day.
It has been one year since schools first closed their doors for face to face learning.
Since that time all children have celebrated their birthdays with some restrictions.
Emma Jones, acting headteacher, said: "As a school we wanted to give every child the opportunity to have a birthday party to celebrate their birthdays between March 2020 and March 2021.
"The children have had a fantastic day, they have been very excited to be with their friends and join in with a very special birthday celebration for each of them."
DEE VALLEY FEDERATION
The children and staff of the Dee Valley Federation have been working hard over recent weeks, writing, drawing and baking for their annual Federation Eisteddfod.
Each year the Federation, made up of Froncysyllte CP School, Ysgol y Garth and Ysgol Pentre, come together to celebrate the Patron Saint of Wales, Saint David, in a celebration of Welsh culture.
During the event, there are readings of poetry, singing and competitions where the children celebrate their love of Wales.
With the restrictions of Covid-19 in place, sadly, this year, the schools were unable to meet in Ysgol Dinas Bran, Llangollen, where they usually celebrate.
However, that didn’t stop them marking the occasion. Instead, they decided to run their first ever virtual Eisteddfod.
The children came online to show off their entries for three competitions: writing, art and Bake Off Cymru!
With lots of fantastic entries, the judges had a difficult decision to make.
The Eisteddfod was an absolute hit, with children dressing up in Welsh costumes, wearing a daffodil and waving the Welsh flag - all from their own front rooms.
Foundation Phase were able to join through their schools and everyone involved had a fantastic time.
A wonderful way to celebrate in such strange times. Da iawn pawb!
WAT'S DYKE CP SCHOOL, GARDEN VILLAGE
Pupils got into the spirit of all things funny for Comic Relief.
The children made voluntary £1 contributions for their Wear Something Funny for Money day
They dressed up, wore wacky hairstyles, told jokes in class, and took part in 'red nose' egg and spoon style races.
