POLICE are warning troublemakers that anti-social behaviour in Holywell will not be tolerated.

The North Flintshire policing team says that responding to incidents at two locations in the town are becoming a drain on their resources and action will be taken to bring it to a halt.

Sergeant for the Flint and Holywell area Steve Lloyd said the trouble was centred around the Tesco supermarket and the town's leisure centre.

The incidents at the leisure centre involve damage to equipment, including the nets covering the football pitch. Glass bottles have also been smashed on the children's play area and skate park.

It is believed that the group causing the issues are aged between 12 and 17.

Sgt Lloyd said: "We are having issues with anti-social behaviour in Holywell particularly the areas of Tesco and the Leisure centre which is causing us considerable demand.

"North Wales Police are aware, we are investigating it and we won’t tolerate it."

Sgt Lloyd added that it was frustrating as coronavirus measures were limiting work officers can do to engage with your people.
