PEOPLE have been metal detecting illegally on the grounds of a historic North Wales castle, police say.
North Wales Police's Rural Crime team says its officers have been informed of the issue at Castell Dinas Brân in Llangollen.
It is currently unknown if any historical artifacts have been taken, police say.
Overlooking the town of Llangollen, the castle dates back to the 13th century and was one of the strongholds for Welsh rebels during their resistance of English invasion under King Edward I.
Police are appealing for anyone with information relating to this issue to contacting them on 101.
