FLEUR ROBINSON will become the new chief executive at Wrexham on June 1, 2021.

Robinson will continue to work her notice at Burton Albion before joining the club.

“I’m delighted to accept this fantastic position and I’m excited about joining one of the oldest professional football clubs in the world, which has both a proud history and a positive future," said Robinson.

“There are not many jobs that would have pulled me away from Burton Albion, a club I have helped develop from the second tier of non-league to two seasons in the Championship, but the prospect of joining Wrexham at the start of what I believe is about to be an incredible new era for the club was too exciting to pass up.”

Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney said: “Fleur will be a great leader for Wrexham. Her commitment to placing the Club at the centre of the community and experience in doing so was exceptionally attractive when you consider the importance we place on that area in our Mission Statement.”

Co-owner Ryan Reynolds added: “Fleur’s enthusiasm just shone through and having successfully navigated the journey to the EFL from the National League, she was able to offer us something different but exceptionally relevant.”

The process was led by a team of counsellors including Paul Nolan Partners, Peter Moore, Shaun Harvey and Steve Horowitz. An extensive search was undertaken against a specific brief which included the significance of the Club’s role in the community and having experienced the journey from non-league into the EFL, along with the other qualities that you would expect from anyone taking on this role.

Executive director Humphrey Ker said: “I was blown away by the quality of all the individuals I spoke with about the role and their passion for the opportunity.

“We cast a wide net and the excitement we found for what we are seeking to build at Wrexham AFC was inspiring. I can’t wait to work with Fleur on the next chapter of the Wrexham AFC story.”
