A CONNAH'S Quay man has been fined and banned after he admitted drink-driving.

Aksel Norbert Swiatkiewicz, of Machynlleth Way, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old admitted that on February 13 at Leighton Court in Connah's Quay he drove a Jaguar XF after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath exceeded the prescribed limit.

He was found to have 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, double the limit of 35.

Swiatkiewicz also admitted that on that occasion, he used the vehicle without third party insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

For drink-driving, he was fined £276 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34, as well as £85 costs.

He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.

The court handed him a further fine of £276 for the insurance offence.

No separate penalty was imposed in relation to is driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
