RESIDENTS across Wrexham and Flintshire had lots of wintery fun over the weekend.

The Met Office had a yellow weather warnings in place for snow and ice across both counties on Saturday and Sunday.

And to the delight of many, plenty of snow arrived - bringing with it the chance to sculpt all kinds of creations, sledge and enjoy picturesque walks with four legged friends.

Wrexham Council confirmed it had "all the usual resources out and operating in the normal manner" on Sunday.

"Our Winter Maintenance team are out and will continue to plough and treat priority routes across the county borough," a spokesman said.

And that's not the end of the chilly weather, with a residents and motorists advised of a further weather warning from the Met Office for the start of the week.

From midnight on Sunday until 11am on Monday morning, a yellow warning for ice will be in place across the whole of North Wales and Chester.

A spokesman added: "Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces. Icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths."
