MEMBERS of the public are being invited to have their say on proposed new 20 mile per hour zones in Flintshire.

In a public notice published in the Leader last week, Flintshire Council informed readers of the plans.

The order stated that the council proposes to make an order to impose a 20 mile per hour speed limit on several roads including; King George Street, Mostyn Street, Woodland Street, Woodland Crescent, Plymouth Street, Unnamed road from junction with Plymouth Street to junction with Victoria Road, Victoria Road, Rowden Street, Beaconsfield Road, Kingsway, Rowden Crescent, Gladstone Street, Garden Way, Queensway, Taliesin Avenue, Mill View Road and Llewelyn Street.

Anyone wishing to see a copy of the notice or the plans can do so via the council's website.

A copy of the documents can also be requested by emailing streetscene@flintshire.gov.uk or calling 01352 701 234.

Objections, together with the grounds on which they are made, should be sent in writing to the council by February 5.

Other notices from Flintshire Council published last week include;

  • Temporary prohibition of through traffic (various roads) from January 18 due to resurfacing works: A548 Coast Road Mostyn between junctions for Llinegar Hall and Dock Road, Unnamed Road at Bwlchgwn from junction with Pen y Nant to Werngate Warm access, Ffordd Eldon in Sychdyn from its junction with Vownog, unnamed road at Trelogan between junctions with Afon Goch Crossroads and Four Crosses. The roads will only be closed/restricted until March 31 according to progress of the works.
  • Temporary one way traffic from January 18 due to resurfacing works: In a south westerly direction B5441 Drome Road, Sealand, between junctions with A548 Deeside Interchange and Welsh Road.
  • Proposal to construct humps and flat top raised tables/junctions on King George Street, Mostyn Street, Plymouth Street and Woodland Street in Shotton.

Notice was also given of planning applications received by the council with regards to listed buildings and conservation areas:

  • Application for part demolition of the Grundig Centre in Mold High Street (061988)
  • Erection of an extension and minor demolition at Well Street in Holywell (062190).
  • Change of use of existing garage to provide art facilities with single story extension and access at a property in South Street, Caerwys. (062184)
  • Display of new signage at same South Street property as above. (062185)
  • Proposed detached garage in Cilcain Road, Cilcain. (062263).

Copies of these applications, plans and other documents can be inspected and by members of the public on Flintshire Council's website until February 5. Anyone who wishes to make representation can do so online or by emailing planning.consultation@flintshire.gov.uk before the above date.

WREXHAM Council has notified residents of new 20 mile per hour speed limit zones in Rossett.

In a public notice published last week, the council announced it made the speed limit order on January 13 and it came into effect on January 18.

The roads affected include Harwoods Lane, Park Court, Alyn Drive, Brandon Grove, Campbell Close, Grosvenor Crescent, Trevalyn Way, West Way, Eaton Close, Moss Green, Rodens Close and Shordley Close.

Other public notices published by Wrexham Council last week include;

  • Prohibition and restriction of waiting and loading and parking spaces in Rossett (various roads). More information on this order, which came into force on January 18, can be requested from traffic@wrexham.gov.uk
  • Temporary prohibition of through traffic order in Gresford; prohibiting any vehicle from using a length of High Street Gresford, from its junction with Pant Lane for a distance of 300m due to resurfacing works. This order comes into effect on February 8 and is expected to last two weeks.
  • Temporary prohibition of through traffic in Wrexham; prohibiting any vehicle from using the length of an un-named lane at Eglwys Cross from its junction with the A525 for a distance of 330m to the Brook in order for Hafren Dydfrdwy to undertake water mains replacement works. This order came into force on January 18 and is expected to last for 8 weeks.
  • Listed building/conservation area application in Wrexham: The council has informed the public of plans to demolish a building in Salisbury Road in addition to the erection of a two storey rear extension - which the council states affects the character of a conservation area. The application's case number is P/2020/0900. Anyone wishing to make comments about the proposals can write to Wrexham Council or email planning_admin@wrexham.gov.uk before February 5.
  • Listed building/conservation area application in Wrexham: The council has received an application for conservation area consent regarding the refurbishment of a ground floor shop, front and rear extensions and conversion of existing upper floors to create 14 one-bedroom apartments. The application's case number is P/2020/0672. Anyone wishing to make comments about the proposals can write to Wrexham Council or email planning_admin@wrexham.gov.uk before February 5.
