A FLINTSHIRE woman has been disqualified from driving after she admitted being over the drink-drive limit.

Margaret Emma Loach, of Mertyn Lane in Carmel, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The 45-year-old had previously admitted that on May 13 last year she drove a Citroen Xsara on Mertyn Lane after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in her blood exceeded the prescribed limit.

She was found to have 274 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood - the limit being 80 milligrammes.

Loach was made the subject of a community order lasting until January 13 next year, which requires her to abstain from consuming any alcohol throughout a period of 120 days, as well as undertaking a rehabilitation activity requirement.

She was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and costs of £85 - as well as being disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 28 months.
