DO you know anyone worthy of a community award in Northop or Sychdyn?

Northop Community Council represents the communities of both Northop and Sychdyn villages and the council chairman, Cllr Pauline Lawton-Hughes has announced the launch of these awards to residents for their contribution to the community.

There will be two awards for outstanding achievement/voluntary service:

• The Young Person’s Award for an individual aged 16 and under;

• The Citizen’s Award for an individual aged over 16;

The Young Person’s Award has been established to recognise an outstanding personal achievement or contribution to the community.

The Citizen’s Award was established to recognise outstanding contributions to the community through voluntary work.

Cllr Lawton-Hughes commented: “Volunteers who help others and thus improve the quality of life for local individuals and/or those in the wider Community Council area, make a significant contribution to our well-being. Members of Northop Community Council wish to recognise this contribution and to recognise the personal achievements of younger residents.”

For the coming year, the Young Person’s Award will be open to nominations of residents from both Northop and Sychdyn wards.

The Citizen’s Award will be open to nominations of residents of the Northop ward.

If you would like to make a nomination for the Awards, full guidance and nomination forms can be found on Northop Community Council website (www.northopcc.org.uk) or by contacting the Council Clerk via email at clerk-northopcc@hotmail.co.uk.
