A SUPER slimmer is celebrating two decades of work helping other achieve the healthy lifestyle of their dreams.

Laura Millward, from Buckley, celebrates 20 years of being a Slimming World consultant after going through the programme as a member herself.

Back in 2001, Laura never imagined that she would still be passionately helping and supporting people to lose weight 20 years on - and still manage to keep at her target weight following a three and a half stone loss.

Laura said: “I have seen many changes over the last 20 years, but the roots of our amazing Food Optimising plan have never changed. The chance to eat yourself slimmer still excites me and I want to pass that on.

“Of course, out of those 20 years, 2020 has been the most challenging to any business and we have fought to open our groups and keep that support going.”

Ms Millward says that she felt it was vital that the Slimming World support and help continued during the pandemic. With the average person gaining up to two pounds per week during lockdown, and with rising BMIs, these added extra risk factors should people contract COVID-19.

Along with her Slimming World partner, Tracey Evans, Buckley’s members lost over 30 stone during the pandemic to date.

She added: “I am very proud that we worked so hard to make our businesses Covid secure, to adapt & learn new ways to continue. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our members for their support.

“Here’s to another successful - but hopefully less challenging year! Or twenty!”
