It's that time of year when most of us are trying a little harder to make healthier choices.
For a lot of people, this will involve cutting back on or giving up alcohol, with many signing up for Dry January in aid of a good cause.
A quick ask around friends of their favourite booze-free tipple revealed some obvious choices, forgotten classics and me agreeing to give tomato juice another go.
As well as the staples of tea and coffee, now joined by crowd-pleasing hot chocolate, there was cream soda, dandelion and burdock, elderflower tonic water, a lot of love for lime and soda (my other half's favourite) and Irn Bru courtesy of my grandad up in Scotland, to name just a few.
But I was surprised at how many people were enjoying alcohol-free wine and beer.
If you are missing the taste of wine or beer, you don't have to miss out.
Most of the big supermarkets stock alcohol-free versions of both.
Both Tesco and Morrisons stock Freixenet Alcohol Free Sparkling Rosé or White (currently £6 or 2 for £10 in Morrisons).
Morrisons also have Nosecco Alcohol Free Wine (£3) and Brooklyn Special Effects Alcohol Free Lager (£1.30 or 3 for £3).
There are even alcohol-free spirits, so with the internet at your fingertips, your biggest problem will be narrowing your choice down.
So whether you need Dry January inspiration or just fancy something that won't see you with a hangover, we have a bit of inspiration.
Koutha Newman, bar manager of Craft & Tails, Wrexham's new venue opening later this year, takes us through some mocktail recipes, classic cocktails minus the alcohol.
What better excuse to invest in some fancy glasses, a cocktail shaker and some little umbrellas?
Pina Colada:
Add to a blender
2-3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
80ml pineapple or just a big glug!
15ml coconut syrup
A splash of milk
Frozen pineapple/mango for that extra tropical flavour
Blend together until you get a smooth milkshake consistency. Enjoy!
Mojito or Mock-jito:
In a glass crush together 3 lime wedges and a pinch of sugar, add a few mint leaves
Add ice and top up with lemonade and a splash of apple juice, swirl with a spoon and serve.
Virgin Mary:
In a glass add ice, pour over tomato juice
A squeeze of fresh lemon (2-3 wedges around 15ml)
Any spices you have in the cupboard to taste e.g. pepper, celery salt, paprika
Add tabasco or hot sauce to taste (around 3-4 splashes is most common)
Stir together and add garnish
I like, fresh celery and cucumber to garnish or olives too
Espress-no Martini:
A cocktail shaker is required for this one
Add a double shot of espresso to a shaker
Add vanilla syrup or caramel syrup to taste
Add a splash of milk if required
Vigorously shake all ingredients and strain into a martini glass or mason jar
Virgin Passionfruitini:
Shake well together
Flesh of 1 whole passionfruit
60ml apple juice
15ml or 2-3 lime wedges
15ml passionfruit syrup (monin)
Serve in a coupe or martini glass
