RESIDENTS in Wrexham have been urged to keep following covid-19 regulations after police were called to parties over the festive period.
The Leader reported in December how Insp Victor Powell, who has since stepped down, called on the public to observe the rules over Christmas and New Year - or face potential enforcement.
Despite that warning, Sgt Claire McGrady has confirmed officers were alerted to breaches.
"Over Christmas and New Year we did have reports of parties and household mixing," She said.
"They resulted in visits from officers.
"We are carrying on working on covid-19 compliance to ensure people aren't mixing households.
"We are asking people to keep following the restrictions.
"If you're in a support bubble, stay in that bubble only.
"If you're going out and about, use a mask and hand sanitizer.
"Limit your contact with other people.
"And if people feel they do have any covid-19 symptoms, we'd encourage them to take up the free testing available."
