PROPOSALS for a dog daycare and exercise field in Buckley have been given the go-ahead.

A planning application received by Flintshire Council requested permission for the scheme on a field adjacent to Buckley Foods, in Station Road.

The document, submitted by Ewloe-based company Beagle Towers, explains the site is currently unused but was previously grazing land.

Flintshire Council has confirmed the proposals have been approved by planning officers.

A design and access document submitted with the scheme explains: "The applicant intends to take a temporary lease on a currently unused field on Station Road.

"She intends to use the field to provide a secure exercise area for dogs in her care, and expand the business to include a ‘doggy daycare’ facility to the local area.

"It is envisaged that should this application be successful the applicant will expand her business and take on up to five new employees.

"This is currently an unused piece of land and given the current economic climate it is unlikely that this land will be

developed in the foreseeable future.

"This proposal if approved will provide a temporary use for the field that will create employment, neaten and maintain an otherwise overgrown and unused piece of land and provide a local community facility for dog walkers."
