Like Mother Like Daughter by Elle Croft

The Leader: Like Mother Like Daughter by Elle CroftLike Mother Like Daughter by Elle Croft

This psychological thriller is told from the perspective of three people, mum Kat, daughter Imogen and serial killer Sally. Sally is in a maximum security prison for her part, along with husband Tim, in carrying out a reign of terror behind closed doors on their own children 15 years ago. Kat has always tried to treat her two daughters equally but she struggles with Imogen's behaviour. Imogen is adopted but doesn't know this, she has always felt she didn't fit in both at home and school. Kat is called into school one day as Imogen has been the instigator of a fight, the first thing that comes to Kat's mind is can this be something in Imogen's DNA, after all her birth mother Sally is a serial killer.

Someone who knows the full facts contacts Imogen persuading her to take a DNA test, when she discovers the truth she goes missing, she needs to find out who her true family are. I enjoyed this book, it had a fast pace and interesting plot with a twist at the end. Julie, Coedpoeth Library
